India imposes anti-dumping duties on China's imports of solar EVA sheets

India recently announced an anti-marketing tax of up to US$1,559/ton for certain types of panels imported from solar cells produced in China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand for a period of five years to protect domestic companies from cheap Damage to imported goods.
In the report, the General Administration of Taxation of India said that after considering the Ministry of Commerce's claim to organize DGTR, the tariff on the imported sheet of "ethylene vinyl acetate" (EVA) was between US$537 and US$1,559 per tonne.
“The anti-marketing tax imposed is valid for five years (unless previously cancelled, replaced or amended),” the teller said.
After receiving complaints from domestic companies, DGTR launched an anti-marketing inquiry in April of last year. In its enquiry, it concluded that tariffs were needed to offset the sales and damage from sales imports from China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
This product is a polymer based component for making Photovoltaic modules.
During the enquiry period (October 2016 to September 2017), plate imports from these countries increased from 4,674 tons in FY2016-17 to 6,367 tons. Imports in the 2015-16 fiscal year were 1,025 tons, compared with 594 tons in the 2014-15 fiscal year.
